Arlene Delores Weidman

Arlene Delores (Swan) Weidman passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at NewAldaya Lifescapes in Cedar Falls, IA. She was 92 years old. She was born on April 21, 1932, to Donald and Naomi (Thompson) Swan. Arlene attended the old Sloan Wallace High School before marrying Norman Weidman in Hampton, IA, in 1948.

 Arlene took pride in taking care of her family. She stayed busy making her children clothing while working in retail most of her life. She worked for Woolworths, Grants, and did payroll for Woolco. Arlene also loved being an Avon Lady. When she wasn’t busy with work, she loved being with her family. Arlene especially loved the holidays and making candy for all to enjoy. Arlene also enjoyed fishing, camping, and traveling, and was a big collector of spoons and had them from all 50 states.

 Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norman; and one brother-in-law, Charles “Chuck” Stuber.

 Arlene is survived by her two sons, John (Nanette) Weidman of Waterloo, IA, Steve Weidman of Waterloo, IA; two daughters, Ronda (Howard)Fraser of Evansdale, IA, Connie Kokonis, of Ayden, North Carolina; one sister, Evelyn Stessman of Waterloo, IA; eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 15 great great grandchildren; and many family and friends.
