David James Ross

David James Ross, 60, passed away, at Harmony Waterloo, on Saturday, August 26, 2023.

David was born February 24, 1963, in Waterloo, to Robert and Beverly (Ogden) Ross. He attended Cedar Falls High School, graduating with the class of 1981. He was employed at Municipal Pipe prior to his employment with the City of Waterloo for 19 years as a Sewer Maintenance Worker up until the time of his stroke in March 2016.

He participated in many fantasy sports leagues, was an avid Chicago Cubs, Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Red Wings, and NASCAR fan. He enjoyed watching WWE, Big Bang Theory, various crime shows and movies, especially superhero movies. Dave’s real passion though lied in music…anything and everything music. He was a talented local musician for many years and later was a part of the Holiday Lakers and whole-heartedly enjoyed the laid-back acoustic jams with family and friends.

David is survived by his wife, Tracia of Washburn; two sons, Travis Ross of Evansdale and Shane Eder of Coralville; a stepson, Curry Reasoner of Washburn; a stepdaughter, Breanna (Adam) West of Waterloo; a granddaughter, Ava Ross and a step-granddaughter, Rylie West. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Michael Cross.

Memorial Visitation: Saturday, November 18, 2023, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, 965 Home Plaza, Waterloo.
