Dewane Francis Metcalf

Dewane Francis Metcalf passed away October 18, 2024, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home. He was 70 years old. Dewane was born on September 17, 1954, in Morehead City, North Carolina to William and Loretta (LaPlount) Metcalf. He married Judith Johnson on July 20, 1991, at the Little Brown Church, she later passed in 2012. Together they had five children together, Andrea (Mike) Cafaro of Waterloo, IA, Adam (Suzanne) Metcalf of Elk Grove Village, IL, Scott (Brook) Metcalf of Hudson, IA, Tanya Petty of Waterloo, IA and Keri Petty of Hiawatha, IA.

Dewane graduated from West High School in 1972 and then went to work at John Deere. In 2008, Dewane decided it was time to retire after working 36 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed hanging out with family and friends, playing golf, and watching sports. 

Dewane is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Judith. Dewane is survived by his children, Andrea, Adam and Scott; two stepchildren, Tanya and Keri; 10 grandchildren, Cameron, Andrew, Maggie, Quinn, Paige, Brendan, Austin, Emma, Matthew and Skylar; and one sister, Lorraine Andrade of Waterloo, IA. 

Services will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 11:00 at Parrott and Wood Chapel of Memories, 965 Home Plaza Waterloo. There will be a visitation an hour before the service.
