Gaylen Merle Frazee was born November 19, 1942, in Waterloo, Iowa, son of Emmett and Dorothy (Briden) Frazee. He graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1960. Gaylen served in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1965. He married Sharon Carson on October 14, 1967, in Hudson, she preceded him in death on February 22, 2012. Gaylen worked as a Central Office Technician with Qwest Communications until his retirement. He enjoyed sports, Iowa Hawkeyes, cars, hunting, fishing and was a Buddy Holly fan. Gaylen loved his grandchildren and liked working on electronics.
Gaylen passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024, at home at the age of 81. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sharon; a son, Jeff Frazee; a grandson, Jaxon Frazee and a sister, Coleen Lucey. Gaylen is survived by two sons, Tim Frazee of Fairfax and Jason Frazee of Waterloo; four grandchildren, Hannah, Carson and Cole Frazee and Arianna Frazee and a sister, Candi Lanning.
Memorials may be directed to the Waterloo Youth Hockey Association.
Visitation: Thursday, June 20, 2024, 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with an hour prior to services on Friday, at Parrott and Wood Chapel of Memories, 965 Home Plaza, Waterloo.
Service: Friday, June 21, 2024, at 10:00 am at Parrott and Wood Chapel of Memories
