Lorraine Alice Gibbons was born March 10, 1948, in Staples, Minnesota, the daughter of Kenneth Ronald and Leone Beatrice (Howe) Brant. Lorraine was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, niece, friend, who would do anything to help others. She was a dedicated hard-working individual who always put the needs of others ahead of her own. She was an executive housekeeper and always willing to lead by example which her staff appreciated and loved working for her. She was united in marriage to Wayne Irons they later divorced. Then she married Danny Baxter who proceeded her in death. Lorraine was united in marriage with Thomas Gibbons on March 17, 1999.
Lorraine passed away at home, on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at the age of 76 after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. She is survived by two sons, Kevin Baxter of Elk Run Heights and Donald (Lora) Baxter of Mountain Home, Arkansas; four Daughters, Angela (Mark) Dahlen of Waterloo, Michelle (Jeff) Thompson of Des Moines, Sheila (Ed) Mundy of Chariton and Stephanie (Joe) Baxter of Oelwein; three step-sons, Bob (Diane) Kastli of Evansdale, Kevin Gibbons of Elk Run Heights and Steve (Jennifer) Gibbons of Washburn; four step-daughters, Jane (Edmond) Cunningham of Waterloo, Diane (Duane) Crowe of Casper, Wyoming, Deb (Barry) Bodecker of Evansdale and Tammy (Dennis) Cain of New Hampton; 35 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and two more on the way; and three sisters, Kathy (Brian) McBride of Waterloo, Mary (Rick) Wersinger of Waterloo and Helen Cochran (Bret Wittmayer) of Waterloo.
Lorraine is preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Kenny Brant and Duane Brant; a sister, Juanita Brant; a grandson, Brandon Chiri and a step-grandson, Nathaniel Crowe, and Travis Cain.
Memorial Service: Seventh Day Adventist Church 550 W Airline Hwy, Waterloo, Iowa. There will be a visitation from 11:30-12:30 with the funeral at 12:30. Burial and luncheon following service.
