Louise Evelyn Schlichte

Louise Evelyn Schlichte was born September 12, 1923, in Waucoma, Iowa, the daughter of Peter and Theresa (Kruse) Collins. She graduated from Waucoma High School. Louise married Paul Schlichte on September 17, 1953; he preceded her in death on October 29, 2005. Together, they lived in Ohio for several years. Also, Louise and Paul wintered many years in Texas. She attended Pitzie’s Beauty School and owned and operated her own Beauty Salon in Waucoma. Louise also did survey work and was a homemaker. She volunteered at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Louise enjoyed bingo, playing cards, gardening and visiting with everyone.

Louise passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the age of 100, at the Denver Sunset Home. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, James Collins and a sister, Marie Dopf. Louise is survived by a sister-in-law, Vera Collins of Waterloo and a niece, Lisa Collins of Cedar Falls.

Visitation: Wednesday, September 11, 2024, 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, at Parrott and Wood Chapel of Memories, 965 Home Plaza, Waterloo, with an hour prior to services on Thursday at the church.

Funeral Mass: Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 10:30 am at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 320 Mulberry St., Waterloo, Iowa 50703.
