Margaret Lee “Marge” Taylor was born and raised in Fern Creek, Kentucky on June 3, 1934, the daughter of William and Nettie (Wright) Conn. She married Lyle Taylor on December 29, 1955, in Louisville, Kentucky; he preceded her in death on March 10, 2014. Marge worked at Rath Packing until their closing. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and cooking for her family and others. Marge was very hospitable and involved in Cedar Heights Baptist Church and Hagerman Baptist, where she served in multiple ways. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marge passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at the age of 89, at her daughter’s home. She is preceded in death by her parents; spouse; a great-granddaughter, Naya Rae Harcus and three sisters, Dorothy Poyner, Millie Foss and Anna Waggoner. Marge is survived by four daughters, Lylette (Dan) Reising of Waterloo, Robin (Dave) Peters of Cedar Falls, Carla (Jeff) Witt of Hudson and Pennie (Kirk) Lundberg of Hudson; 19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, with two on the way, and a sister, Jean (Verlyn) Kraus of Wisconsin, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald (Mary) Taylor of Cedar Falls and Merlin (Lois) Taylor of Cedar Falls, and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
Visitation: Wednesday, August 2, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, 965 Home Plaza, Waterloo.
Service: Thursday, August 3, 2023, at 11:00 am at Hagerman Baptist Church, 1105 Knoll Ave., Waterloo.
Burial: Private family burial will be held prior to the service at Garden of Memories.
