Patricia Elinor (Gibbs) Hall

February 28, 1950 — February 10, 2025

Waterloo

Patricia, “Pat” Elinor (Gibbs) Hall passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025, at UnityPoint Health in Waterloo. She was 74 years old. Pat was born February 28, 1950, in Waterloo, IA, to John and Lois (Owens) Gibbs. One night at the bowling alley in 1974, she met the love of her life, Richard “Dickie Do” Hall. They were married on October 9, 1976. They were together for a total of 50 years, celebrating their 48th wedding anniversary this past October. He passed away in December of 2024. Together they had one beautiful daughter, Mandi.

Pat graduated from West High School, Waterloo, IA in 1968. After high school she worked various jobs before landing the head baker position at Bishops. After Bishops, she went on to work for Sartori Hospital as a cook, then Covenant in medical records, retiring in 2013.

In her spare time Pat loved gardening, shopping anywhere and everywhere and bowling. Pat and her family loved spending time at their trailer in Prairie du Chien in the summers. Pat had a very humorous side to her and would often attend annual bowling meetings and various PTA and church functions with the other members dressed as the funky chickens.

If you knew Pat, you knew she had a very “sassy” side and a no-nonsense personality. She would never shy away from telling you exactly how she felt. There was no sugar coating anything with her. If you got ‘the look” you knew you were in for it. But Patricia also had one of the biggest hearts. She would be the first one to help you if you needed anything and loved taking care of everyone. She would spoil all the people she loved and enjoyed every minute of it. Especially her granddaughter, Isabel, if she needed a new American Girl doll, Pat made sure she had it.

Pat is preceded in death by her husband, “Dickie Do”; her parents; one brother, John Gibbs; one sister-in-law, Janet Adams; and one nephew, Tony Gibbs.

Pat is survived by her daughter, Mandi (Jeremy) Loudermilk; one granddaughter, Isabel Loudermilk; four nieces, Julie Martin, Kim Hall, Andrea Gibbs and Chris Hall; five nephews, Jon Gibbs, Jody Gibbs, Justin Gibbs, Larry Martin and Jeff Hall; three great nieces, Jaylyn Gibbs, Payton Gibbs and Piper Gibbs; eight great nephews, Austin Martin, Jordan (Biz) Martin, Conner Martin, Parker Gibbs, Ashton Gibbs, Trey Gibbs, Jacob Gibbs, Garrison Gibbs; one great great nephew, Karsen; one great great niece, Esme, and one great great niece on the way; and many family and friends.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
