Richard Dean Hall

Richard “Dickie Do” Hall passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at MercyOne in Waterloo. He was 77 years old. Dick was born August 17, 1947, in Waterloo to Arthur and Margaret (DeWald) Hall. In 1974 one night at the bowling alley, where he spent many nights, he met Patricia “Pat” Gibbs. They married on October 9, 1976. They were together for a total of 50 years, celebrating their 48th wedding anniversary this past October. Together they had one beautiful daughter, Mandi. 

Dick graduated from Hawkeye Tech in 1984 with his GED. Before graduating and after, Dick worked for the railroad, then went to drive truck for Lanter Courier. Dick then worked for Wal-Mart for 17 years, retiring in 2020. 

Dick had many past time favorites; bowling, fishing, working on cars and was a huge Packers Fan. But Dick’s biggest joy was his granddaughter, Isabel. The two of them were best friends and inseparable. 

Dick is preceded in death by his parents; one brother in infancy, Kenneth Hall; brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Marlys Hall; one brother-in-law John Gibbs; one sister-in-law Janet Adams; and one nephew, Tony Gibbs. 

Dick is survived by his wife, Pat; one daughter, Mandi (Jeremy) Loudermilk; one granddaughter, Isabel Loudermilk; one brother, Denny Hall; four nieces, Julie Martin, Kim Hall, Andrea Gibbs and Chris Hall; five nephews, Jon Gibbs, Jody Gibbs, Justin Gibbs, Larry Martin and Jeff Hall; three great nieces, Jaylyn Gibbs, Payton Gibbs and Piper Gibbs; eight great nephews, Austin Martin, Jordan (Biz) Martin, Conner Martin, Parker Gibbs, Ashton Gibbs, Trey Gibbs, Jacob Gibbs, Garrison Gibbs; and one great great niece on the way; and many family and friends. 

Services will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024. At 11:00 am at Parrott and Wood Funeral Home, with visitation from 10:00-11:00 am.
