Shanda Marie Armstrong

Shanda Marie Armstrong was born April 20, 1979, daughter of Jeffrey Schmitt and Barbara (Hanesford) Bruno. She graduated from Expo High School in 1997. Shanda married Kerry Armstrong April 20, 2000, in Waterloo. She managed convenient stores, then went to work for Harris Cleaning for 10 years. Shanda was a caregiver to her husband, Kerry, that is what Shanda was devoted to do. She enjoyed bingo and fishing and loved her nieces and nephews. Shanda adored her fur babies, Sugar and Spike.

Shanda passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025, at the age of 45, at her home. She is preceded in death by son, Casey Joe Hanesford; step-dad. Mike Bruno; paternal grandma, Doris Schmitt; maternal grandparents, Donald and Deloris Hanesford and niece, Kennedy. Shanda is survived by her husband, Kerry Armstrong of Waterloo; father, Jeff Schmitt of Waterloo; mother, Barb (Rick) Bruno of Waterloo; step-children, Monique (Brandon) O’Donnell of Waterloo and Nick Armstrong of Waterloo; brother, Josh (Michelle) Hanesford of Waterloo, three sisters, Tiffanie Bruno of Waterloo, Rachael (Eric) Bruno of Gilbertville and Sara (Justin) Bruno of Waterloo; step-granddaughter, Savannah O’Donnell and nieces and nephews, Alyvia, Karter, Kash, Brooklin, Jayce and Camrin.

Memorial Visitation: Friday, Apriil 4, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, at Parrott and Wood Chapel of Memories, 965 Home Plaza, Waterloo.

Memorial Service: Friday, April 4, 2025, at 3:00 pm, at Parrott and Wood, 965 Home Plaza, Waterloo.

Celebration of Life Luncheon: Immediately following at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1301 Kimball Ave., Waterloo.
